A post for the Belgians… Drupalcamp 2013 is about to take place this weekend (september 14+15) in Leuven. The whole event is free, however you have to register and buying a t-shirt is appreciated.
These are some of Saturday’s topics:
- Be sure to catch the presentation about Varnish and Boost by the CEO of OpenMinds (which hosts drupal.be). The presentation is stuffed with live demos about how to cache your website and make it a 100 times faster (really). Later that day, he also gives a presentation about the setup of QMusic.be (=a popular, but terrible radio station).
- I’m curious about the the presentation about how to connect Drupal with Lightswitch (=MS Visual Studio), seems pretty weird wanting to use both worlds in the same project. It isn’t the only one that mixes environments, as there’s also a presentation about deploying with Capistrano (=a deploy kit in Ruby) (I don’t know Capistrano so it might make perfect sense, we’ll see).
- A must see for everyone who’s new to Drupal 8 is how to write a module for it – it’s pretty different from Drupal 7.
You can read the full program on the Drupalcamp website.
